Evangelism
Bearing witness to the Triune God by proclaiming Jesus Christ faithfully, prayerfully, respectfully and compassionately.
Take the Gospel beyond the church walls
Evangelism includes everyday conversations, hospitality, testimony, community service, invitations, public outreach and the faithful explanation of the Gospel.
Pray
Ask the Father for love and open doors, depend on the Holy Spirit for wisdom and courage, and seek to make Jesus Christ known faithfully.
Listen
Respect people as people. Listen to their story and questions rather than treating them as a project.
Explain
Speak clearly about Jesus, sin, grace, the cross, resurrection, repentance and faith.
Invite
Offer a next step: read a Gospel, pray, meet again or connect with a healthy local church.
A simple Gospel conversation
- Ask a genuine question.“Do you have any spiritual beliefs?” or “What gives you hope?” can open a respectful conversation.
- Listen before answering.Understanding someone's actual question is better than giving a rehearsed answer to a question they did not ask.
- Share what Jesus means to you.A short personal testimony can naturally lead into the Gospel.
- Explain the Gospel clearly.Keep the Gospel of Jesus Christ central while explaining that Christians worship the one God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — rather than drifting into arguments about secondary issues.
- Invite, never pressure.Respect a person's freedom to continue, ask questions or end the conversation.
