God made us for Himself
The one true God is Creator, holy and loving. Human life has meaning because we are made by Him and accountable to Him.
Christian faith is Trinitarian, and Jesus Christ stands at the centre of the Gospel: the eternal Son sent by the Father, conceived by the Holy Spirit, crucified for our sins, raised from the dead and reigning as Lord.
The New Testament presents Jesus as the eternal Son who reveals the Father and gives the Holy Spirit to His people. To encounter Jesus rightly is to be drawn into the life, grace and saving purpose of the Triune God.
Following Jesus is more than adopting a religious label. It means turning to God, trusting Christ, receiving new life by the Holy Spirit and learning to live as a disciple within the Church.
A simple framework for understanding the Christian message.
The one true God is Creator, holy and loving. Human life has meaning because we are made by Him and accountable to Him.
All people fall short of God's holiness. Sin distorts our relationship with God, one another, ourselves and creation.
God did not abandon humanity. The eternal Son entered our world as Jesus Christ, truly God and truly human.
Christ gave Himself on the cross for our sins and rose bodily from the dead. Christian hope rests in what He has done, not self-salvation.
Repentance turns from sin toward God. Faith entrusts ourselves to Jesus Christ and receives God's grace.
The Holy Spirit brings new birth, dwells in believers and forms a life of worship, holiness, love, service and witness.
Because the Son became human and accomplished salvation through His life, death and resurrection. Jesus reveals the Father and sends the Spirit; His centrality in the Gospel is fully Trinitarian rather than a denial of the Father or Holy Spirit.
The Christian message is that forgiveness is God's gift of grace through Jesus Christ. No one becomes worthy of salvation by first becoming good enough.
Repentance is a genuine turning of heart and direction away from sin and toward God, inseparably joined to faith in Jesus Christ.
Questions can be brought honestly into Scripture, prayer and thoughtful conversation. Christian faith does not require pretending difficult questions do not exist.
Christian faith is personal but not solitary. A healthy local church is a place for worship, teaching, prayer, baptism, fellowship, pastoral care, service and shared witness.
