BRITAIN FOR CHRIST — PROFESSIONAL REFINEMENT & USER EXPERIENCE STANDARD Version 28 · 27 August 2026 PURPOSE Britain for Christ should be structured, streamlined, easy to navigate, mobile-friendly, accessible and trustworthy while remaining clearly Christian, Trinitarian and Scripture-grounded. 1. USER NEED BEFORE PAGE COUNT The website should help a visitor answer: Where am I? What can I do here? What is the next useful step? New pages should only be created when they solve a distinct user need that cannot be served clearly by an existing page. 2. FOUR PRIMARY VISITOR JOURNEYS The homepage prioritises: Explore Christian Faith; Study the Bible; Prayer & Spiritual Growth; Find a Church. Worship/media, worldwide resources and language pathways remain visible but carry less visual weight. 3. NAVIGATION Primary navigation is grouped into Explore Faith, Bible & Growth, Churches, Resources and About, with Search as a separate prominent action. Mega menus should contain only high-value destinations; lower-priority pages remain reachable through contextual links, Search and Site Map. 4. MOBILE FIRST Tap targets should be comfortable, navigation must be fully keyboard/touch usable, type should remain legible without zooming, and page hierarchy must survive narrow screens without hiding essential content. 5. SCRIPTURE & TRUST Major Christian teaching follows: Scripture first. Interpretation second. Application third. External inclusion is not blanket doctrinal endorsement. Directory inclusion is not accreditation. 6. VISUAL RESTRAINT Use a small, consistent palette, clear typographic hierarchy, predictable spacing, restrained shadows and deliberate emphasis. Do not make every element compete for attention. 7. ACCESSIBILITY Maintain skip navigation, visible focus states, semantic headings, keyboard-operable menus, reduced-motion support, contrast-conscious design and reading preferences. 8. PERFORMANCE Prefer local assets, deferred JavaScript, appropriately lazy-loaded non-critical images and limited decorative overhead. Functionality should not depend on unnecessary third-party scripts. 9. SEARCH & DISCOVERY Search should remain visible throughout the platform and group result types clearly so Britain for Christ content, church-directory results, selected external providers and open searches are not confused. 10. CONTINUOUS REFINEMENT Future releases should first improve clarity, consistency, accessibility and usefulness before expanding page count.
